Age: 4 to 5 years
At Royal Windsor Montessori and Daycare our Kindergarten program provides a learning environment that supports developmental growth in all areas. We recognize the value of education and the need for directed instruction to ensure that children enter the first grade with the knowledge and skills expected of them.
The Kindergarten program offers a solid foundation for learning with small classroom ratios. We realize that children at this age are critical thinkers. Our curriculum emphasizes the development of language and literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, computer literacy and art. At this age children have a higher ability to relate themselves to other children and adults therefore, our program allows for children to socially interact with one and acquire strong social skills.
Children are encouraged to develop good reading habits and respect for books. Our program provides children with the tools to enrich and enlarge their vocabulary. Children will engage in small and large group discussions that aid children to build confidence.
We aspire to provide children with school skills needed to successfully move on to grade one. Our children are able to set and achieve individual goals, follow a sequence of tasks independently, work cooperatively with fellow peers and attain required listening skills.
